Criminal Injuries Compensation Award and Detailed Application Guidance

This guidance sets out the process to be followed when giving consideration to making or supporting an application for a Criminal Injuries Compensation Award, which is a government-funded scheme designed to compensate blameless victims of violent crime in Great Britain. The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) administers this scheme and decides all claims.
To access the Hertfordshire guidance on the CICA scheme and application process, please see the Children Looked After Finance Framework - HCC (hertfordshire.gov.uk) page on the Intranet.
AMENDMENTIn September 2019, this chapter was removed from the manual and can be found on the Hertfordshire Intranet.
